The Hatchling
In the summer of 2024, I had the pleasure of being a puppeteer in the production of The Hatchling. A spectacular dragon that hatches from an egg, grows to the size of bus and flies from land over water. It is the world’s largest non-mechanical puppet that also flies. Focusing on ensemble sensitivity and puppetry techniques, the durational performance spans across three days. Improvising through the city and interacting with audiences, people passing by and performance/community groups. The theatre experiment took place in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
